About:

I left Sweden in January 2008 to go travelling for an uncertain time. Mostly because always tend to get bored after staying in one place for too long, and also because my work doesn’t really require that I’m at any specific location at any given time. In this connected world of ours, concepts of places, home and work can be something completely different than they were just 10 years ago. I want to take good use of that.
I want to get to know more about the world around me, and i think the best way to do so is by first hand experiences of it. I don’t want to rush my way through the globe, instead i want to get a good feel for all the places and cities i visit, its people, culture and what everyday life is like. Therefore i will try to stay for at least a month in every city i find appealing enough to visit. I will also try to travel as much on the ground as possible, since airplanes are doing really nasty stuff to our climate, and because travelling on ground almost always forces you to see places and meet people that you most likely would never had come across otherwise.

I’m also kind of making a thing of trying to do all this without using any huge amounts of money. I live as cheaply as possible, i don’t go to fancy restaurants and i don’t buy tons of things that i don’t really need. I’m trying to keep my daily budget to about the equivalent to 40 euros, that’s supposed to be enough for everything including travels and accommodation. Not really because i must do all this on a tight budget, it’s more because i like the concept of budget travel and living, and because you tend to meet more interesting people when couchsurfing or at a cheap guesthouse than at fancy hotels. (Well, i wouldn’t actually afford those anyway…)

I’m interested in cultural differences, languages, photography, videogames, environmental issues, politics, economy and globalisation.

And finally: I’m born and raised in Sweden, so English is not my first language. I apologise for any errors, un-understandable sentences or other faults that just prove that I’m human.

I hope you’ll enjoy my blog!
